FIELD: tobacco industry; packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pack for smoking articles, and in particular to a hinge-lid pack. Pack for smoking articles comprising a body part (2) and cover (3). Cover is hinged to body part (2), closing space formed body part (2) with closed cover (3). Cover (3) includes an end part (16) and extending from end part (16) wall (12), which overlaps wall (6) of body part (2) in closed position. Valve (26, 93, 107, 120) having a free end (29, 96, 109, 125) extends from front surface of one of said walls, and a recess (51, 80, 102) is formed in other of said walls, wherein recess (51, 80) or free end (109, 125) of valve (107, 120) has a first edge (54, 65, 73, 87, 115, 127) and a second edge (55, 56, 66, 74, 88, 90, 116, 128). First edge is offset relative to second edge so that when cover (3) is moved to closed position, said first edge is placed over free end (29, 96) of valve (26, 93) or recess (102) before second edge is placed over free end of valve or recess.

EFFECT: providing a package with hinged lid with increased resistance to opening of lid to secure safety of its closed state.
