FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for treating metabolic syndrome. Diet therapy is conducted with 1,200 kcal for women and 1,500 kcal for men, with limitation of carbohydrate-containing products and fats. Prescribing metformin in a dose of 850 mg 2 times a day. Additionally performing evaluation of emotiogenic type of eating behaviour at questionnaire DEBQ. Blood serum level of 25 (OH) - vitamin D is determined. Upon evaluating emotiogenic type of eating behaviour higher than 2.03 points and when content of 25 (OH) - vitamin D falls below 29 ng/ml, aquadetrim is prescribed for first 8 months in dose of 2,000 IU, then in dose of 1,000 IU for 6 months. In addition, therapeutic course from first day, includes oral administration of melaxen at night 30 minutes before sleeping in a dose of 3 mg for first week, then in a dose of 4.5 mg for following twelve weeks, then in a dose of 3 mg for following 2 months, then in a dose of 3 mg for first 15 days every month, for 3 months.

EFFECT: method enables faster and considerable reduction of abdominal obesity and metabolic disorders, increases efficiency of treating metabolic syndrome.
