SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to methods for automatic testing of integrity of valve seat for one or more valves during normal operation of valves. Valve components that determine valve seating integrity are typically a valve seat and a valve closing element that engages valve seat to close valve. Described herein versions of testing method respectively relate to testing valve seating integrity during opening of valve and during closing of valve, wherein all testing instances are carried out without interrupting operation of a process control system that includes valve, without isolating valve, and without relying on analysis of results by user.
