FIELD: vibration sensors.
SUBSTANCE: determining the vapor pressure of a fluid. The method comprises the step of providing a meter with meter electronics, the meter comprising at least one of a flow meter and/or a density meter. Process fluid flows through the meter. The location of the low pressure based on the gauge geometry is provided. Process fluid pressure is adjusted until flash vaporization is detectable at the low pressure location. The true vapor pressure of the process fluid is calculated when flashing is detectable.
EFFECT: high-precision temperature reading adapted to detect very early signs of instantaneous vaporization/cavitation.
