FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to adjustment and testing of special cast-steel spring-loaded safety relief valves, spring-loaded safety relief valves, and other safety valves used in a safety valve unit of gas switching units during the operation of gas-distributing stations (hereinafter GDS). Method for adjusting and testing safety valves consists in the following: gas used for adjusting and testing a safety valve is supplied with the required high outlet pressure from an high pressure input pipeline of the GDS into the safety valve unit and to inlet of the adjustable safety valve. Gas with the required high outlet pressure for adjusting and testing a safety valve is supplied from an high pressure input pipeline of the GDS to the input of the safety valve of the safety valve unit through the device for adjusting and testing safety valves. Device for adjusting and testing safety valve consists of a portable detachable pipeline with a reduction gear, a tee-joint, and a pressure gauge. Device is connected to the high pressure inlet pipeline of the GDS through a branch pipe via an adapter before adjusting and testing safety valves.

EFFECT: technical result: reduced labour input of gas supply to a bypass line, reduced volume of gas emissions into the atmosphere, reduced time of bleeding, higher efficiency of procedure of safety valves adjustment.
