FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of rare metals raw material. Method involves preparation of charge in two stages, at first composition phosphate-silicate minerals is averaged by content of basic components. In raw material then added sodium fluoride and granulated in air atmosphere at 800-850 °C. At second stage granular material is directed to reflecting melting furnace at temperature 1,000-1,200 °C for liquation melting of material. Gravity separated phosphate-saline and iron-containing silica-alumina melts are granulated and processed into desired products by acid decomposition of phosphate-salt melt for production of rare earths and phosphate fertilizers and by reducing carbothermic melting iron-containing silica-alumina melt for production of ferroniobium and end products in form of heavy metals, after which processing wastes are fed into head of process.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of processing rare metal raw materials by separation of its phosphate components and iron-aluminosilicate compounds with subsequent extraction of rare earths, niobium, tantalum, zirconium and other heavy metals.
