FIELD: lithium metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing high-purity lithium fluoride from spodumene concentrates and can be used in industries such as microelectronics, radio engineering and nuclear energy. The method includes decryption of α-spodumene in a tubular rotary kiln with its transfer from α- to β-version. The produced β-spodumene is classified to a fraction <200 mcm, the fraction <200 mcm is fused with sodium sulphate and fluoride, taken in a ratio of 1:2 - 1:3. Fusion is carried out in a skull furnace for 1 hour at a temperature of 1050°C to segregation separation into the lower silicate melt and the upper salt melt, which is a concentrator of lithium fluoride. The sodium sulphate and fluoride present in the salt melt are subjected to dissolution in water with separation of the insoluble lithium fluoride salt.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplification of industrial production of high-purity lithium fluoride with a high content of the main substance from spodumene concentrates.
