FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ester of docosahexaenoic acid with panthenol of formula 1, or an enantiomer thereof of formula A. Ester of docosahexaenoic acid with panthenol is intended for use as a medicinal agent or as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and/or treating cardiovascular diseases. Ester of docosahexaenoic acid with panthenol is obtained by a) selective protection of two functional OH-groups of pentanol or D-panthenol by O-protective groups, b) esterification of unprotected functional OH-groups of DHA in presence of 1-[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)carbonyl]-1H-imidazole and N,N-dimethylpyridine-4-amine and c) deprotection of two protected functional OH-groups, wherein O-protective group represents trimethylchlorosilane.
EFFECT: monoester of docosahexaenoic acid with panthenol for treating and preventing cardiovascular diseases.
