FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to containers and is intended for transportation and long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) in form of spent fuel assemblies (SFA). Container for transportation of SNF comprises metal housing with bottom coaming with bottom and support fixed on it and concentric cylindrical shells with formation of cavities. Upper coaming has channels for container cavities tightness verification and monitoring. Lower coaming is made with channel, in which temperature sensor is installed. Channels in both coamings have connection points. Both coamings are also equipped with inner cavity cooling-drying valve. Upper coaming has detachable journals for container lifting and tilting. Lower coaming has journals with detachable sleeves for container tipping.
EFFECT: invention allows to expand the functional purpose container, enables its use both for transportation and long-term storage of SNF.
