FIELD: packing industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to containers for long-term storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel. Container includes a case consisting of barrel with bottom and tight cover of internal barrel space. The barrel features top journals and external finned shell mounted coaxially with the barrel and partially overlaps it along the length thus forming a sealed cavity. Segmented annular partition out of metal with high heat conductivity is mounted in the cavity along its length and divides space of the sealed cavity into inner (central) and peripheral parts. Inner part of sealed cavity is filled with filler composition for neutron protection. Longitudinal profiled elements out of metal with high heat conductivity pass through the composition to link the barrel with annular partition. Peripheral part of the sealed cavity is filled with another filler composition of high heat conductivity and mobile-state fluidity sufficient to fill a gap between annular partition and finned shell.
EFFECT: enhanced processability of container case design.
