FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for hydrotreatment of hydrocarbon material. (a) contacting feed with (i) a diluent and (ii) hydrogen, to produce a feed/diluent/hydrogen mixture, wherein hydrogen is dissolved in mixture to provide a liquid feed; (b) contacting feed/diluent/hydrogen mixture with a first catalyst in a first treatment zone, to produce a first product effluent; (c) contacting first product effluent with a second catalyst in a second treatment zone, to produce a second product effluent; and (d) recycling a portion of second product effluent as a recycle product stream for use in diluent in step (a) (i) at a recycle ratio of from about 1 to about 8, wherein first treatment zone comprises at least two stages, wherein first catalysts is a hydrotreating catalyst and second catalyst is a ring opening catalyst, first and second treatment zones are liquid-full reaction zones, and total amount of hydrogen fed to process is greater than 100 NLH2/Lfeed.

EFFECT: using present method enables to use a simpler system of smaller size without additional gas phase or separation of gases.
