FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for arresting oxidative ammonolysis reaction. Method includes a stage of delivery stopping, which in turn involves stopping the delivery of propane, oxygen containing gas and ammonia to the reactor, where the reaction for oxidative ammonolysis of propane is carried out using a catalyst. Method also includes a stage of arresting the reaction, which involves delivery of inert gas into the reactor in amount of 10 to 300 volumes of the catalyst per hour, until the temperature of the catalyst reaches the value of 380 °C or lower. Time required for reducing the catalyst temperature to 360 °C or lower after stopping the delivery is within 10 hours. Disclosed method enables fast and safe arrest of reaction of oxidative ammonolysis of propane without deteriorating the catalyst activity or formation of acrylonitrile.

EFFECT: invention also relates to a method of producing acrylonitrile using the said method for arresting oxidative ammonolysis reaction.
