FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave engineering and can be used to determine electrophysical parameters and non-uniformities of dielectric coatings on metal surface. Microwave device for measuring electromagnetic parameters of dielectric and magneto-electric coatings on metal consists of series-connected microwave generator, antenna switching unit having N-outputs, N-antennae for excitation of slow surface waves, arranged in azimuthal plane along a circle, wherein n-output of switching unit, where , is connected to input of corresponding antenna, receiving antenna of E-waves and receiving antenna of H-waves, as well as of series-connected control unit, synchronisation unit, movement mechanism interacting with receiving antennae, as well as a signal processing unit, wherein second, third and fourth outputs of control unit are connected to input of microwave generator, second input of antenna switching unit, second input of movement mechanism respectively, and outputs of receiving antennae are connected to first and second input of signal processing unit, respectively, wherein second output of synchronisation device is connected to third input of signal processing unit.
EFFECT: faster operation and reliability of microwave device for measurement of electrophysical parameters, high accuracy of measurement and probability of detecting irregularities of coating.
