SUBSTANCE: method involves scanning the surface of the coating with a given step and generating a two-dimensional matrix of values of the dispersion of the coefficient of normal field attenuation on the entire scanning surface, and generating a second electromagnetic E wave, followed by calculating the absolute deviation of dispersions of the coefficient of field attenuation, while constructing spatial distribution of average values of dispersions of the coefficient of normal field attenuation of surface slow waves Eλ1, Eλ2 and Hλ3, the spatial pattern of which visually displays the distribution of non-uniformities and their boundary.

EFFECT: high probability of detecting small-size non-uniformities and high accuracy of estimation of boundaries thereof.
