FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metalworking and can be used for automated mechanical treatment of items with complex spatial profile and high requirements on quality and accuracy of processed surface formed by turning at lathes of nanometric accuracy with computerized numerical control (CNC). Method involves successive movement of the knife along axes X, Y and Z of the lathe coordinates system by means of corresponding movements of transverse and lengthwise support stands of the lathe and the knife holder, determination of actual position of the knife in the lathe coordinates system using laser contactless sensors installed along axes X, Y and Z, herewith the knife is moved till having contactless interaction with the laser beam of the above mentioned sensors, determination of the shift relative to the preset one and correction of the knife position at its subsequent positioning during the item treatment, which is performed at the following ratio:
EFFECT: use of invention ensures higher precision of processing and reduced setting time of the lathe.
