FIELD: test equipment. SUBSTANCE: method of automatic contact-free measurements and orientation of actuating member of numerical controlled machines concludes in measuring position of vertex of non-rotary actuating member or point which most distant from axis of rotation either support edge of rotating actuating member is measured relatively other members of measuring system which are disposed in specific manner in coordinate system of numerical programmed controlled machine. Measuring system has flat radiation beam directed onto the receiver. This beam has specific dimensions and disposition and it is used for orienting actuating member relatively measuring system by means of shifting the beam in the beginning of measurements in perpendicular to the beam till the beam crosses vertex or other character point of the actuating member. Subsequent measurements are carried out in the plane of this flat beam or in the plane to be parallel to it. EFFECT: improved precision; improved reliability. 8 dwg
