FIELD: image processing device.
SUBSTANCE: there is reduced an effect of difference between samples of the target cell and difference in conditions of image generation and so on. Image processing device receives a shot image obtained by forming an image of a sample containing the target cell, having a nucleus. It selects pixels, which are the nucleus candidates from pixels included into the shot image. It sets the rectangular area on the shot image, having a preset size and centred on the pixel included into the selected group of pixels. It determines whether the target cell is included into the said rectangular area on the basis of the fact whether the image attribute value obtained from the rectangular area meets the set condition of image attribute value.
EFFECT: higher reliability and increased accuracy of detecting nucleus-containing erythrocytes when using image processing.
