FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to filter cartridge and method of filtration of contaminants from gas using filter cartridge. Filter cartridge for removal of contaminants from gas medium has a sealed housing cartridge containing gas inlet, filtration medium and outlet for gas. Said filtration medium has a multilayer structure containing first layer of sorbent, second layer of sorbent, which is located closer to outlet hole for gas than first layer of sorbent, and a sensor element adjoining first and second layers of sorbent. Indicator of sensing element is located at boundary of contact of first and second layers of sorbent. Method of filtering contaminants from gas contains following steps: providing said filter cartridge, providing gas flow passing through filter cartridge, detecting response of sensor element and replacement of filter cartridge.

EFFECT: higher safety of cartridge, as well as timely indication of service life of filter cartridge.
