FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device (1) for determination of object (2) speed and a method of determining the speed by means of this device. Device includes a unit for measuring the Doppler frequency configured to measure the Doppler frequency in at least three different directions, herewith the unit for calculating the Doppler frequency is configured to calculate the Doppler frequency for the calculation direction similar to one of at least three different directions depending upon the Doppler frequencies measured for at least two additional directions of at least three different directions. Then the speed can be determined depending on the calculated Doppler frequency and the measured Doppler frequencies. Since in the direction of calculation the measured Doppler frequency is not required to determine the speed, it is also possible to determine the speed in the direction of calculating reliably even if the measured Doppler frequency in this direction of calculating is distorted.

EFFECT: technical result is the increase of accuracy of determining speed of the object.
