SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing audio signals and is intended for random shifts of frequency in area of subbands. Apparatus for generating frequency-shifted audio signal based on an input audio signal has interface and a frequency shift. Interface is configured to receive an input audio signal. Frequency shift unit is configured to generate frequency-shifted audio signal. Additionally, frequency shift unit is configured to generate one of values of second subband based on one of first subband values so that second phase angle of this value of second subband differs from first phase angle of this value of first subband on difference of phase angle difference of phase angle depends on frequency information indicating which difference frequencies to be shifted input audio signal to get frequency-shifted audio signal, and also depends on bandwidth of one of first subbands.

EFFECT: technical result is high quality of reproducing an audio signal.
