SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of making a resilient tampon, which includes providing binder fibres having an average fibre length of at least 35 mm; combining binder fibres to form a loose fleece; activating binder fibres; and compressing a portion of loose fleece into a pledget after activating binder fibres. Resilient tampon includes 70-95 wt% absorbent fibres and 5-30 wt% bicomponent binder fibres. Binder fibres have an average fibre length greater than 35 mm.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of making a resilient tampon.
