FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing composite material based on polyoligocyclopentadiene and glass microspheres involves mixing dicyclopentadiene with at least one of organosilanes, selected from group of at least with one of polymer stabilizers selected from a group, and glass microspheres, obtained mixture is heated in an inert atmosphere to temperature of 50-220 °C, held at this temperature for 15-360 minutes, and then cooled to room temperature. Thereafter, the mixture one introduces at least one of radical initiators selected from a group and catalyst, which is a compound of general structural formula as defined in the patent claim, catalyst is preliminarily dissolved in at least one of methacrylates, selected from a group: glycidalmethacrylate, ethylene dimethacrylate, diethylene glycol dimethacrylate, butylene glycol dimethacrylate, 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate, 2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate, tricyclo decane di-methanol dimethacrylate, ethoxylated Bisphenol A, dimethacrylate, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate, wherein mixture components are in following ratio, wt%: organosilanes 0.2-3; polymer stabilizers 0.1-3; radical initiators - 0.1-4; Methacrylates 0.3-25; catalyst 0.001-0.02; dicyclopentadiene 1-60; glass microspheres is rest. Also disclosed is composite material. Result is production of material providing compression strength of not less than 50 MPa, bending strength of not less than 25 MPa, tensile strength not less than 25 MPa, Izod impact strength without cut is not less than 3.5 kJ/m2 at glass transition temperature of 150 °C and material density of 0.8-0.6 g/cm3.
