FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in seismic exploration. Method of seismic vibration excitation is based on use of potential energy of cargo lifted above the ground, and transmission of pulsed mechanical effect on medium through the substrate in contact therewith. According to the proposed method, weight of cargo lifted above the surface is used at the moment of cargo separation from the place of its fixation in contrast to known methods, as which an electromagnet can be used. At the moment of separation of the cargo, instant unloading of soil is performed, pre-deformed under action of pressure on soil, produced by cargo weight. Cargo prior to its separation is placed at the height sufficient for recording drop of useful signals caused by unloading of soil, pre-loaded with lifted cargo. Moment of separation of the cargo is recorded by sensor installed on a substrate on which then cargo falls down, if its fall is not prevented by the damping system.
EFFECT: increase in resolution of seismic exploration by widening the spectrum of excited oscillations.
