FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed extractants may include one or several dialkyl sulfones of the formula R1-SO2-R2 (I), where each one independently denotes a linear or a branched alkyl containing 1-8 carbon atoms, herewith the total number of carbon atoms in a compound of formula (I) is equal to 6-12. Extractant can be a mixture of dialkyl sulfones obtained as the result of oxidation of three products of interaction of two aliphatic C4-C5 alcohols with hydrogen sulphide. Extractant may additionally include other extractants, for example, tributyl phosphate or methylisobutyl ketone, or diluents, such as kerosene, C6-C10 aliphatic alcohols, halogen substituted C6-C10 ketones, linear or cyclic siloxanes.
EFFECT: proposed is a group of novel extractants for extraction of nitric acid from aqueous solutions, including from waste waters, which can be used for liquid extraction of nitric acid and separation of nitric and hydrochloric acids.
