METHOD OF DEHYDRATION OF ETHANOL TO ETHYLENE WITH LOW POWER CONSUMPTION Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C07C1/24 C07C11/04

Abstract RU 2597422 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of dehydrating ethanol raw material to ethylene. Method includes: a) evaporation of said ethanol material in the mixture with at least part of purified water flow, recycled from step f), in a heat exchanger by heat exchange with flow coming out from the last reactor, wherein said ethanol raw material mixed with at least part of said purified water flow is fed into said stage of evaporation under pressure of 0.1-0.4 MPa, b) compression of the said evaporated ethanol material in the mixture with at least part of purified water flow recycled from step f), in the compressor, c) introduction of evaporated and preliminarily compressed ethanol raw material in the mixture with at least part of purified water flow, recycled from step f), at the inlet temperature of 350-500 °C and pressure of 0.2-1.3 MPa at least in one reactor operating under adiabatic conditions, including at least one dehydration catalyst for reaction of dehydration, where the dehydration occurs, d) separating the flow coming from the last operating in adiabatic mode reactor from step c) into flow containing ethylene at pressure lower than 1 MPa and flow containing water, e) cleaning at least part of the flow containing water, from step d), and separation of at least one flow of purified water and at least one flow of unreacted ethanol, f) recirculation of at least part of flow of purified water from step e) to step a).

EFFECT: use of the proposed invention allows maximum usage of heat exchange between raw material and flow coming out of the last reactor.
