FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for dehydrating an ethanol feedstock for the production of ethylene and subsequent oxidation of ethylene to ethylene oxide comprising the step of evaporating feed containing said ethanol feedstock and at least a portion of the dilution water flow containing recovered ethanol to produce vaporized feed, compression in a compressor driven by a condensing turbine driven by the steam generated by an oxidation step, dehydration of mixture containing said compressed vaporized feed, separation of effluent obtained from dehydration into flow comprising ethylene and flow comprising water, purification of at least one portion of flow containing water and separation of into at least one flow of purified water and dilution water flow containing ethanol, where this latter flow being returned to the process above the evaporation stage, and oxidation of ethylene contained in the ethylene-containing flow to generate ethylene oxide, wherein the oxidation step comprises at least one tubular oxidation reactor cooled by vaporized quench flow, when said evaporated quench flow provides operation of the condensation turbine.

EFFECT: method for dehydrating ethanol feed is proposed.
