SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to oncology, and can be used for preventing or treating an individual suffering from estrogen-and androgen-dependent tumors. For this purpose, the parenteral administration of caudal neurosecretory system hormone of a person urotensin-2 is performed, at that, before use ampoule with lyophilized hormone in amount of 1.2-1.5 mg is opened, its content is dissolved in 3-5 ml of sterile 0.9 % sodium chloride and it is introduced into the vessel with 200-500 ml of sterile 0.9 % sodium chloride. After mixing the ingredients the mixture is applied in the vein for 45-50 minutes daily within the course of 30-40 days. If necessary the prevention course or treatment is repeated 3-4 months later.
EFFECT: method enables to prevent the growth of estrogen-and androgen-dependent tumors.
