FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of determining mechanical characteristics of materials, particularly, to a method of determining modulus of elasticity, tensile strength and ultimate deformation. Core: performed are forming a hollow tubular article on a mandrel, cutting off samples from it, loading the samples till destruction with measurement of force and movement and further calculating values of mechanical properties. Samples are produced by cutting off a hollow uncured article on a mandrel along and across the axis with subsequent unfolding and curing the sheet on a flat mandrel, cutting off samples from it of given dimensions with the sheet thickness along and across the initial axis of the article and determination of mechanical properties (modulus of elasticity, tensile strength and ultimate deformation) in axial and circumferential directions using known methods for tensile, compression, bending, mainly by longitudinal bending method.
EFFECT: development of a universal method of determining mechanical characteristics (tensile strength, ultimate deformation and modulus of elasticity) in the axial and circumferential directions of hollow tubular articles from composite materials, higher accuracy (reliability) of test results and reduced labour intensity.
