FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to research of metals on wear arising as a result of hydroerosion action, namely to methods of determining duration of an incubation period of metals cavitation wear. Essence: is determined tInc. by the flowsheet R=ƒ(t), where on Y-axis R is deposited - altitude of surface roughness parameter subjected to cavitation action, on X-axis - t - time of cavitation effect. Re of the object surface-template after an incubation period tInc. is pre-measured and then on the flowsheet through the Re point a line parallel to X-axis is drawn. R of the researched object is measured: Ro at t0=0; R1 at t1< tInc., after which the measured values are applied on the graph and through points (t0, Ro) and (t1, R1) straight line is drawn to the intersection with said parallel line and further along the abscissa of the point of intersection the predicted duration of incubation period of the object is determined. As a reference is selected a product used for a similar purpose of the analyzed object, made of material identical to the researched one.
EFFECT: possibility of prediction of cavitation wear incubation period duration.
