FIELD: diagnosis of loaded materials; determination of long-term strength of structures at designing and operating stages. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in measurement of short-time strength and temperature of material under test followed by plotting temperature graph versus short-time strength σb(T).. Absolute temperature T*, corresponding to point of intersection is determined by linear extrapolation till intersection with abscissa axis. Long-term strength σt(T) during period "t" (s) at absolute temperature T is calculated from the following relationship σt(T) = σb(T){1-lg(t)/13[(T*/T)-1]}.
