Chip-control arrangement includes at least one projection (20, 128) disposed at intersection (56) of corner (44A) of cutting insert. When chip-control arrangement includes two projections (28, 128, 30, 130) they can be disposed symmetrically on both sides of intersection. Each of at least one projections is elongated and extends longitudinally along an associated side surface.

EFFECT: higher reliability of chip removal.
