FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to DC regulators, particularly to regulators used for electric energy supply for aerodrome lighting appliances. Result is achieved due to that regulator (10) of direct current is intended to supply serial connection circuit (9) of airfield lighting installation with output power of alternating current corresponding to preset power output, wherein said regulator comprises multiple modules (13) electrically connectable for simultaneous operation with combined supplying said output power, wherein each of modules is configured to provide output power module contributing to output power regulator. Each module has corresponding transformer (135) with possibility of providing galvanic isolation according to local standards and micro-controller to control operation of module. Said DC regulator comprises data transmission network (17), connectable to said micro-controller modules (13), wherein said micro-controllers allow data communication over said network (17) for data transmission to support modularity of said DC regulator (10), which provides possibility of adding or removing one or more such modules (13) into or out of said DC regulator.
EFFECT: higher reliability and increased efficiency of direct current regulator.
