FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, mainly is intended for oceanographic research of coastal shelf in the area of large, medium and instantaneous velocities of a turbulent flow and can be used, including, for solving tasks of coastal engineering and control of ecological condition of open water reservoirs. Method of continuous determination of mineral suspension concentration in a bottom layer of the sea in the zone of intensive disturbance involves using a measuring device, which contains at least one installed at the specified level of the sea sampler of the suspension in the form of an accumulating jar equipped with a sensor. Using the sensor the amount of the suspension in the accumulating jar is determined. Output signals of the sensor are processed and as per the results a time derivative is determined for the amount of accumulated suspension proportional to concentration of the suspension. Obtained current values of the suspension concentration are either registered in a long-term memory of the measuring device or transmitted via a communication line in real time. Upon completion of the measurement cycle the accumulated suspension is removed from the sampler and subjected to a full-scale laboratory analysis: first, values of the amount of accumulated suspension are determined and using these values data are corrected obtained as the result of the measurement cycle; second, other interesting characteristics of the suspension are determined. Herewith the sampler, mainly, is made up of a cylindrical jar provided with a piston and has a scale.

EFFECT: technical result is a high-accuracy determination of concentration of mineral suspension in the bottom layer of the sea in the zone of intensive disturbance and receiving information in real time, the possibility of determining vertical distribution of concentration of the suspension, as well as the possibility to divide the said suspension into separate fragments and bind them to the measurement time.
