FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: to implement invention in centre of location of mobile device (e-SMLC) commands are transferred from traffic detection function (TDF), for obtaining data on changes in location associated with first and second user equipment (UE). Determination is made by TDF based on data on change of position, whether first and second UE are at sufficiently close distance from each other for data exchange and whether first and second UE with high probability of next to each other for at least of given period of time. First and second UE can start data exchange “between devices” (D2D) based on result of determination.
EFFECT: invention relates to wireless communication and is intended to ensure, for example, using TDF, that first UE and second UE are potentially at sufficiently close distance from each other for wireless direct data exchange.
