FIELD: turbo-machines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production quality control and evaluation of fatigue strength of cast blades with directed crystallization of high-temperature turbine machines. Core of invention is that surface ultrasonic mechanical pulses are excited in the material of the article, change of time of ultrasonic mechanical waves passing a certain distance through the article surface is registered, and by the number and location of the registered changes in the time of passing the number and location of macrograins as well as their boundaries location are determined.
EFFECT: technical result is increased accuracy of evaluating physical-mechanical properties of materials and articles, consisting of several macrograins, each of which has its own and unknown orientation in space and/or physical and mechanical properties different from other macrograins.
