FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, particularly to methods of determining size of particles in aerosol clouds, and can be used for environment protection and disguising measures. Optical method for remote measurement of radii of particles in aerosol clouds consists in fact that during time of existence of aerosol cloud, when it is recorded on background of sky, using digital video recorder optical density of clouds. Then standard optical density of cloud is calculated, which is reduced due to falling out first particles of large radii. Mean height of aerosol cloud is measured, calculated time intervals, which in selected gradation fall particles corresponding radii, and aerosol particle size distribution is determined by ingress of point of intersection lines of time of falling particles and standard optical density of cloud in this or that gradation on nomogram.

EFFECT: technical result is remote determination of particle size distribution law in aerosol clouds in optical range of electromagnetic spectrum.
