Claimed method of the atmosphere optical characteristics measuring, including the luminous flux registration scattered on the contained in the atmosphere aerosol particles. According to the proposed solution, based on the Umov effect, preliminary forming the calibration dependence between the scattered on aerosol particle solar radiations linear polarization degree maximum value and their reflectivity, in the form of log(Pmax) ∝ log(A), where Pmax is the scattered on aerosol particles solar radiation linear polarization degree maximum value; A is the aerosol particles reflectivity. At that, measurements are carried out in the evening or morning dusk, continuously, when the sun is not visible from behind the horizon and the Earth casts a shadow on the atmosphere above the measuring device placement point, as which the polarimeter is used, which is oriented to the zenith in the process of measurements. Wherein, synchronously with the solar radiation linear polarization degree measurements, angles between the horizon and the direction to the sun upper edge are fixed, from which corresponding to the specific measurement the shadow height is calculated and revealing the scattered solar radiation linear polarization degree dependence on the height, which is interpreted as the aerosol particles reflectivity dependence on the height using the calibration dependence.

EFFECT: increase in the atmosphere optical characteristics at various heights measurements efficiency and reliability.
