SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive filtration system for the fuel loading zone having a pool of spent fuel in nuclear reactor. Passive filtration system reduces release of particles into atmosphere, such as radioactive particles formed in case of boiling of pool of spent fuel. Passive filtration system comprises discharge channel, ventilation mechanism located between the zone of fuel loading and discharge channel. Ventilation mechanism is configured to release the mix of steam and air from the fuel loading zone in the discharge channel. Mixture of water vapor and air contains particles. Passive filtration system additionally contains air filtration unit arranged in discharge channel, and this unit has at least one passive filter. Mixture of water vapor and air is pumped through at least one passive filter due to pressure difference created in the fuel loading zone.
EFFECT: technical result is increased nuclear safety in NPP fuel loading zone.
