SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a machine for making bags or sacks, comprising input, drum, and output sections. Drum section has at least one seal bar on a drum. Said sections are mounted to side frames, that are single metal plates. Said frames are not coated after being formed and/or are comprised of at least one of galvanized steel, galvannealed steel, stainless steel or aluminium. Drum is comprised of first and second plates, and opposing third and fourth plates. First plate is rotatable with respect to second plate, and third plate is rotatable with respect to fourth plate. Distance from seal bars to centre of drum is responsive to rotation of plates. First plate has a plurality of non-radial grooves, and second plate has a plurality of radial slots, with fixtures in slots and grooves. Fixtures are connected to seal bars. Non-radial grooves are curved and/or spiraled. Plates are comprised of zinc-plated steel and/or are discs. Winder includes a rotatable turret with a centre and surface wind position, and a centre wind only position. When one spindle is in centre and surface wind position, other spindle is in centre wind only position. Push off palm is mounted in a push off position.
EFFECT: spindle is collapsible.
