FIELD: space.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection from micrometeoroids. Device for space vehicle protection against micrometeoroids consists of metal protective shield, insulating layer, dielectric screen and power supply system to generate a potential difference. Power supply system has two outputs. First output is connected to the electroconductive layer of dielectric screen, and the second - to an barrier. Barrier is has a metal substrate. Second power supply is connected to the metal substrate and metal protective shield. Metal protective shield, electrically conducting layer and metal substrate are divided into sections. Between the metal substrate and the electroconductive layer there are dielectric barriers. Apparatus includes an amplifier; its input is connected to the metal protective shield, its output is connected a micrometeoroid recognition unit.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of losses of electric energy due to possibility of voltage supply on the screen directly at the moment of micrometeoroid impact.
