FIELD: astronautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to onboard equipment of spacecraft. Method for over-current protection in an electronic unit of a space vehicle involves in case of over-current indicating a failure of the electronic unit channel and its switching off, then on again. Determined is current consumption by each channel. Channel failure signal is generated if the current consumption exceeds the threshold value; the time allowed during repeated switch-on of the channel after its switch-off and allowed number of repeated switch-ons. Switch-ons are set for a long and a short time intervals. If the number of switch-ons for the long interval does not exceed the threshold value, the waiting time is counted from the moment of switch-off. Simultaneously counted is a long waiting time interval, if the number of switch-ons is equal to zero. After counting the short interval the channel is switched on and the number of switch-ons is increased, the number of switch-ons is zeroed, current and failures control are switched off, if the number of switch-ons more than two times reaches the threshold value.
