SURGICAL SUTURING INSTRUMENT WITH COMPACT JOINT CONTROL FACILITIES Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B17/68 A61B17/29

Abstract RU 2599335 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely to surgical instruments, particularly to surgical cutting and suturing instruments. Surgical instrument comprises handle assembly, articulated rod unit, first hinged element, second hinged element and articulated joint control unit. Articulated rod assembly sets lengthwise axis and has proximal section projecting from handle assembly. At that, proximal segment is articulated with distal section capable of selectively turn relative to proximal section around first axis, which essentially lateral to lengthwise axis. First hinged element and second hinged element are connected to distal section of pivot rod assembly. Articulated joint control unit is movable installed in handle, connected to first and second hinged elements and able to selectively apply pushing and pulling forces thereto. When moving articulated joint control unit in at least one first adjustment position, control unit applies first pull force to first hinged element and first pushing force to second hinged element making distal central section of rod to turn about first axis in first direction. When moving articulated joint control unit in at least one second adjustment position, control unit applies second pull force to second hinged element and second pushing force to said first hinged element making distal central section of rod to turn about first axis in second direction. At that, proximal segment of rod is attached to rotary head, rotary resting on handle assembly and articulated joint control unit comprises ball element installed in seat in rotary head. Ball element contains multiple holders, formed on it, capable of selectively enter in contact with plurality of corresponding locking elements in section of socket with fixing ball element in any of its positions, neutral or at least one, first or second, adjusting positions. In second version surgical instrument comprises handle assembly, rotary head and hinged rod assembly. Rotary head is fixed on handle assembly in rotary manner. Rotary rod assembly is connected with rotary head and sets longitudinal axis. Articulated rod assembly comprises proximal central segment, distal central segment, proximal working tubular segment and distal working tubular segment. Proximal central segment is connected to rotary head and protrudes from it. Distal central segment is hinged to proximal central segment for implementation of selective turn relative to proximal central segment about first axis, which is, in fact, lateral to lengthwise axis. Proximal working tubular segment is movably supported on proximal central segment and interacts with rotary head so that proximal working tubular segment can be turned by means of rotary head relative to handle assembly around longitudinal axis and can move relative to rotary head in response to motion, causing actuation of device and created by means of starting control system, which functionally maintained in handle. Distal working tubular segment is movably supported on distal central segment. Surgical instrument additionally includes first hinged element, second hinged element, ball element. First and second hinge elements are connected to distal central segment of rotary rod assembly. Ball element additionally makes distal central segment to turn about first axis in first direction, and to second adjustment position, in which articulated joint control unit applies second pull force to first hinged element making distal central segment to turn about first axis in second direction. At that, surgical instrument additionally contains first handle of hinge projecting from ball element in first direction, as well as second handle projecting from ball element in second direction, which is diametrically opposite first one.

EFFECT: inventions provide optimum operational actuation force.
