FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aluminothermal production of chromium-based alloy. Charge contains chromium oxide, aluminium, oxidant in the form of sodium bichromate and chromium anhydride, calcium hydroxide with carbon content not exceeding 0.2 wt%, sodium chloride, lime with carbon content not exceeding 0.2 wt%, lime with carbon content not exceeding 0.5 wt%, fluorspar concentrate and iron powder sprayed with air. sodium bichromate and calcium hydroxide with carbon content not exceeding 0.2 wt% is loaded in the mixing drum, then, chromium oxide, aluminium, chromic anhydride, sodium chloride, lime with carbon content not exceeding 0.2 wt% are loaded and mixed, the produced mixture is stirred in the hearth, after weld penetration of 50-75 % of the mixture iron powder is loaded in the hearth on the melt surface, for 2-4 minutes before the melting termination lime with carbon content of not more than 0.5 wt% is loaded on the furnace top. After melting tapping of 30-40% slag into mold is performed for forming scull, and on the liquid slag left in the hearth fluorspar concentrate is loaded and after its dissolution slag and metal are drained under slag layer in the mold.
EFFECT: stable output quality of the chromium-based alloy with iron content of 5 wt%.
