FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustic measurements and can be used for measurement of vertical distribution of sound speed at sea with transmission of measurement information to the vessel over a hydroacoustic communication channel. Essence: after hydroacoustic probe discharge in sea water special scheme comprises its self-contained power supply, in response to the microcontroller pulse generator through switch impact excites with video impulse cylindrical piezoelectric transducer at wall thickness. Received radio pulses corresponding to repeatedly reflected from the surface of cylindrical inner cavity of piezoelement filled with water acoustic pulses, through a switch, amplifier and analogue-to-digital converter come to microcontroller, which determines the arrival time, calculates measured values of sound speed in water and stores them. Microcontroller generates digital electric radio signal matching these values, which is transduced through power amplifier and switch on cylindrical piezoelectric transducer-hydroacoustic probe emitter radial oscillating and transmitting digital measurement information to the vessel through water medium.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplified compared to similar hydroacoustic probes for measurement of sound speed in sea design of probe and reduction of its cost.
