FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining industry and, in particular, to methods for assessment of wetting ability of solutions of surfactants in relation to solid bodies, namely minerals, natural coals and other mine rocks. Method for assessing the wetting ability of solutions of surfactants in relation to minerals and rocks involves estimating the wetting ability of solutions by the weight of a solution held in a powder by capillary forces, herewith the wetting solutions are selected with a concentration equal to the critical micelle concentration (CMC). Particles are poured with the solution over their surface, and after a preset time the solution is drained and its mass is determined remaining in the vessel with particles held by capillary forces and considered to be the mass of particles, herewith held by capillary forces mass of the solution is compared with the retained mass of the solution of a reference wetting agent.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of estimating wetting ability of additives of surfactants to water, simple measurement and higher efficiency.
