FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of pearlite used as a filler of rubber mixtures. Hydrophobization of dispersed pearlite is performed including mechanical mixing of pearlite with a modifier at the weight ratio of pearlite to the modifier equal to 1:3 and heating the produced mixture in series at 500 °C during 1 hour and at 900 °C during 1 hour. Modifier used is aniline or diethylene glycol.
EFFECT: higher hydrophobicity of the disperse pearlite and simpler process of hydrophobization.
