SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway vehicles braking equipment and can be used in bogies of cargo, passenger cars and locomotives. Grip brake comprises pair of holders with brake pads and their opposite movement mechanism. To bogie side frames horizontal frame is rigidly fixed, two pairs of holders with brake pads are supported on its transverse beams with possibility of longitudinal relative movement along bogie. Ends of each pair of holders are connected with possibility of holders with brake pads arranged in vertical plane oppositely directed transverse displacement. Holders of each pair are connected with horizontal brake pads, and their oppositely directed movement mechanism is made in form of at least one, but preferably four or six depending on number of wheels in bogie horizontal L- or T-shaped double-arm levers, which long arms are articulated with brake system tie rod.

EFFECT: enabled simplified design, higher efficiency and increased speed of loaded car without increasing braking distance.
