FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to chemical-thermal treatment of structural and tool steels and can be used for surface hardening of parts of machines and process accessories in machine building, metallurgical, chemical, instrumental and other industries. Method for cementing parts from structural and tool steels in cemented paste is characterized by the fact that on the surface of the part there is applied a paste which contains powdered dry components of barium carbonate BaCO3, bentonite, marshalite and soot DG-100 at following ratio of components, wt %: barium carbonate BaCO3 20–30, bentonite 5–10, marshalite 10–20, soot DG-100 – balance, and as a spreading agent – dextrin adhesive containing the following components, wt %: yellow dextrin 60–65, water 30, glycerine 5–10 and borax 5–10. Then, said part is heated at 920–980 °C for 5–6 hours and subjected to quenching and low tempering at temperature of 150–200 °C for 2 hours.
EFFECT: higher rate of carburizing, possibility of processing parts of any size and shape, local cementing of working surfaces of parts, high uniformity of heating parts, as well as high environmental safety of carbonation process.
