FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a system to support aircraft landing in difficult weather conditions. To support landing at the ground level symmetrically from the runway axis along a preset landing path N pairs of optical emitters are installed with beams of low divergence as visual reference points on lines formed by projections onto the ground level of the right and the left lateral borders of the allowable landing paths, the beams are directed perpendicular to the glide slope plane, the aircraft deviations from the preset path are determined from the change in distances and angles between the linear reference points. Landing support system comprises a far and a near homing radio stations, N pairs of optical emitters made for amplitude modulation of the radiation power or variation of the spectral composition, or based on laser emitters, or on the basis of LED emitters located in a certain manner.
EFFECT: provided is increased section of visual orientation for landing in difficult weather conditions.
