COMMON FULL ADJUSTABLE CHARGE FOR 82-mm MORTAR ROUND Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC F42B5/16 F42B30/12 

FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons, namely to a common full adjustable charge (CFAC) for 3VO36 round for 2B24 82-mm mortar. It includes an additional charge (AC) from modified pyroxiline powder (PP) in rigid combustible powder bags (RCPB) arranged on the mine tail tube. It also contains the main charge from thin-arch fine-grained phlegmatized PP in a paper case with a metal sleeve. Latter contains an igniter. Main charge is arranged in a perforated mine tail tube. RCPB has a U-shape with fixing elements providing its reliable fixation on the mine tail tube. In the RCPB there is a modified PP with low dependence of combustion rate of on pressure (exponent ν in the combustion rate law makes 0.55÷0.65 within the pressure range of 20÷80 MPa). Herewith the powder is made as a single-channel grain with the ratio of grain diameter (d_g) to its length (L) of 0.4÷0.6 and the ratio of channel diameter (d_c) to the thickness of the burning arch (2e₁) of 0.2÷0.4.

EFFECT: provided are increased firing power of mortar systems; increased the capacity of powder in charge.
